FUND RAISING EXPERIENCE

EinsPlus:

September 2011, our bloc was so excited about our upcoming activity in SFFG 20. Mam Fobel told us how much fun this activity would be. We had to plan a event that could make us raise a certain amount that would be donated to our beneficiary which is an international organization called "Eat so they can." The main goal of the organization is to help indigenous children. So we were all excited that we will have a different experience and that we would help those children. Our first plan was to have a mini concert at the NCAS auditorium, we divided our class into 3 groups and each group would have an assigned a task. But then we realized that this would be complicated and expensive. After some arguements we finally came up with a good plan. We again divided our class into 3 groups: The Shirt Committee, The sweets Committee and The posters Committee. We contributed 30 pesos each and we used that as our capital money. Everyday the sweets committee bought gummy worms, stick-o and crinkles and they sell these for a very low price. The shirt committee posted posters and did sales talk with some strangers. By September 29, 2011, our bloc raised more than 2000 pesos and we are still continue to raise funds for the organization. This experience is truly unforgettable. We had time to know each other well and we had a time to make new friends but most importantly, we explored the art of communication. :)
